Xbox Gaming’s Jerret West Optimistic About Starfield’s Launch as the Beginning of an Exciting Exclusive Lineup
2 min readAs the highly anticipated space exploration RPG, Starfield, is just under two weeks away from its release, Jerret West, Xbox’s Chief Marketing Officer and Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Gaming, appears hopeful that this marks the start of an “epic sprint of exclusive games” for Xbox.
In an interview with GamesRadar+ at Gamescom, West expressed that Starfield represents the “community joy and social joy” for Xbox, emphasizing that such ambitious and unique games don’t come around very often. West indicated that this signals a fantastic era for Xbox, reminding players that other games like Forza Motorsport and Avowed are also on the horizon.
West mentioned, “I think Starfield, in some ways, is a bit of a starting gun for that sprint, which is going to be fantastic for Xbox. And by Xbox, I mean the console and the PC gaming communities. You’re seeing all these games hit Game Pass on the same day and date for PC and console. We have Starfield, we have our Forza, and if you look into 2024, we had already announced things like Avowed and Hellblade, and maybe you’ll get a shot at Towerborne. All of these games are really a relay handoff point to really make and shape how people experience Xbox as a brand. I think of it as the starting gun of what’s going to be quite an epic sprint for us over the next few years. And there are many championships to be won that will contribute to winning that sprint.”
Starfield is set to launch on September 6th for Xbox Series X|S and PC, available on Game Pass as well. However, players with Premium or Constellation editions will enjoy early access starting on September 1st.
