1 min read

In Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, all electronic advertising boards were temporarily shut down after explicit adult content was unexpectedly broadcasted on a large billboard in the central Ukba Bin Nafi Square. The incident was quickly circulated on social media through videos captured by bystanders. Authorities have arrested the individual responsible for projecting the explicit images onto the billboard, revealing that financial disputes might have driven the act. Currently, all advertising boards in Baghdad are temporarily unavailable.

An incident unfolded in the central Ukba Bin Nafi Square of Baghdad’s Karrada district when explicit adult content suddenly began airing on a large electronic advertising billboard during the evening hours. The uninterrupted broadcast of the content for several minutes prompted passersby to capture the bewildering scenes on their mobile phones, subsequently sharing the videos on social media.

The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Service, a branch of Iraq’s Ministry of Interior, announced that the individual responsible for projecting the explicit images onto the billboard had been apprehended. Local reports suggest that financial disputes between the individual and the person responsible for the advertising boards might have motivated the individual to carry out this action.

Following the incident, all electronic advertising boards in Baghdad were temporarily shut down. In response to the situation, authorities increased security measures and launched an investigation into the matter.
